"Final pint of organic milk left the farm last week, that's it, hanging the clusters up for good. No more silly multi dairy inspections.
Does anyone realise (or care) that thanks to the NFU (little red tractor) and supermarkets who dreamt up the Farm Assurance Scheme, a farmer can no longer produce milk and sell it unless his premises has been inspected and passed for the National Dairy Farm Assurance Certification?
'Value Added' was the supposed reason for NDFAS but since inception we producers have not gained a penny of value added, just the extra expense of having to comply with petty silly little ideas thought up by someone in an office pushing pen and paper around."
