Thompson Resigns From Bush''s Cabinet
WASHINGTON (AP) - Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson resigned Friday, warning of a potential global outbreak of the flu and health-related terror attacks. "For the life of me, I cannot understand why the terrorists have not attacked our food supply because it is so easy to do," he said. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20041203/D86OD2TG1.html( The comment from Canada was: "Idiotic statement.. our governments and their cronies.. are the terrorists..")

Gary Burkholder in Kansas has sent a follow-up comment to warmwell.com:It seems they, people in politics and government, want to provide the threats of fear to the Public by "feeding" ideas to any terrorist anywhere. Sometimes less said is better for the Public good. I believe that is exactly the case here.
This is a totally irresponsible comment, made by a Presidentially-appointed person, and I am glad this man is gone...on that basis alone.
The Bush Administration, post the election, has seen a mass exodus of staff...over 240 staff members, to date. There are several reasons for that, but primary seems to be that these people can see no reason to be in support of a person, our President, who does more to promote terror than to stop it. It was the main platform of Bush all through his campaign. It sickens me, that throughout the last 20 years, the Presidential candidates all hollered about how important Peace is, to get themselves elected, and when once elected, have done more to promote Wars.
Johnson did that.
Nixon did it.
Carter did it.
Reagan did it.
Bush Sr. certainly did it.
Clinton talked Peace, but continued sending troops to Third World countries with arms in hand that were used. And now, we have Bush, who has made no bones about the fact that he wanted to have Wars, while he talked Peace, prior to being elected President. This is a political ploy to appeal to what People want....Peace. An impossible ideal. These "leaders" have demonstrated this time and time again.
And now, we have statements like this every day from appointed mouthpieces who have no loss to incur for their statements, no responsibility for their actions, and the Public continues to lose our men and women, everyday, while killing other people who have beliefs other than these "leaders".
This is a comment about American Presidents, but the same rules apply to other world leaders, too. And why the U.N. has a plank and established pronouncements that it is there to serve World Peace, its record of accomplishing the same is dismal. It seems to me these leaders lie more than they tell the Truth.
We are the gullible innocents who want to believe what they say, prior to putting these people in office, then have nothing to say about how they behave...when seated.
It's really more about Kindergarten Politics surrounding the sand pile. Don't share your toys with other kids! Kick sand in the other person's face first. Round up that kid's toys....so you have all of them for yourself. After all, a little sand in the eyes and ears goes a long way toward building up one's toy empire.
