Questions need to be put to politicans about this threatening behaviour to Arpad Pusztai and why publication of this research will not be made freely available.

Arpad Pusztai has sent evidence on the detrimental effects of Monsanto`s latest application for a licence of a GM animal feed.

This went to the European Food Safety Authority. This committee is supposed to be a group of independent scientists, but they have no laboratory.

They have noted that research has been received from Pusztai, but will not show his research. However they have shown it to several groups and to Monsanto.

It is 5 pages long.

Pusztai has been made to guarantee that he will not reveal it to anyone or he will be taken to court.

It appears Monsanto are tied in with the European Food Safety Authority as they have been for years ever since the Eurobio Office was set up.

Questions need to be put to politicans about this threatening behaviour to Arpad Pusztai and why publication of this research will not be made freely available.

(Pusztai was one of the major whistleblowers on the dangers of GM a few years ago after having been silenced and threatened. But he eventually got the truth into the public domain).

ISIS Press Release 07/05/04

French newspaper Le Monde ( warmwell note - click this link: GMWatch.org for the Le Monde article and its translation) has seen secret documents revealing health impacts of the GM maize, described as "very disturbing" by scientists of the French commission for genetic engineering (CBG), including kidney malformations and increases in white blood cells in male rats and high blood sugar and reduced immature red blood cells in female rats.

Last year, up to 100 villagers in the south of the Philippines living near GM maize plots suffered debilitating illnesses when the GM maize came into flower [2]. Prof. Terje Traavik of the Norwegian Institute of Gene Ecology in Tromsų found antibodies to Cry1Ab produced by the GM maize against the corn borer in the blood of 39 villagers [3]. The maize variety was Dekalb 818 YG, a hybrid between Monsanto's Mon 810 and a locally adapted variety (Dekalb 818). Report has come in of the same illnesses recurring this year [4].
