Our source has sent through another internal document with regard to FMD.
This letter is dated 28 March 2001 and is to Jenny Bacon at MAFF and is from the Principal Private Secretary at 10 Downing Street, Jeremy Heywood.
The letter is entitled FMD : STATISTICS.
The letter starts
' We discussed the unsatisfactory position in the minutes leading up to today's PMQs. The Prime Minister also raised this in COBR this evening. It may help if I clarify what information we need for media purposes'.The letter later states
'Almost all of this data is already collected for COBR, though I remain confused about how we can reconcile the 3pm to 3pm data you (and the Conservatives) are using and the data that COBR sees'.This letter is agreed with all the No 10 staff with an interest ( Alistair Campbell, Godric Smith, Catherine Rimmer, Clare Sumner and David North).
We understand that there are many more documents for release but they are only coming through piecemeal.
PS I understand that there was a great deal of demand for copies of the Burnside Video from within and without the UK.
