Sometimes I wish I were dumb and deaf and unaware of what is happening in the world.

I am disgusted at how the Americans react to their men being caught by the Iraqis. What did they think? That they were super-human? That something as trivial as losing men to the enemy could not happen to them?

What makes me really mad is how they thought they would enter Iraq like a Sunday morning jog and would only meet with friendly faces and people waiting for their saviours waving bunches of flowers. Regardless of the regime, I think it is only normal that Iraqis are patriots.

Their arrogance (we are the only "nice guys" and we will make everybody else on this planet acknowledge it -- by force if needed -- and thank us for showing them the right way) is something I feel increasingly hard to stand. Reminds me of a 13-year old American girl on the TV after 9/11 saying that what shocked her most was "How can people NOT LIKE us Americans!"

And yes, the US seem to think that it is OK for them to have WMD ("weapons of mass destruction")and mines, etc., but not for anybody else, of course, since only the US are enlightened and will put WMD and mines to good use, that is killing to foster peace :-(

Did you know that Afghan POWs in Cuba commit suicide every day (which is mortal sin in their religion too, by the way, but it shows how degrading is being held in wiremesh cages, having one's hair cropped to 2mm and being thoroughly stripped of all dignity)?

Have you seen the Iraqi POW who begged to be allowed to pray and was thrown on the ground and shouted at and beaten around?

How can any "normal" being not resent that? How can Americans fail to see that this will only increase hatred towards them?
