Yes, FMD was a good out for those about to retire but it was a minority of farmers that managed to get their hands in the till.

The majority were and still are farming under restrictions and most had unprecedented expense of extra feeding costs last spring when we were not supposed to turn cattle out and were not allowed to put them in a field of grass across the road.

FMD has not vastly interfered with milk production which is now running ahead of last year after a dip in the spring so I guess the majority of dairy farmers at least have had to farm their way through it.

There is no new Landrover here!
