What we should be doing now is chasing up DEATHRA or our MPs to see if they have got access to a quick on farm test for FMD now. From my farm I can see both Cheltenham racecourse and Gilders farm and we could see the fire smouldering a week later. It was just after this that MAFFia changed the policy and decided to slaughter on suspicion WITHOUT testing.
As a result many more herds/flocks were taken out round Tewkesbury and it is widely thought that NONE had FMD. Some people had their sheep culled but not their cattle - and their cattle are still alive today and it proves to me that there was no FMD on those farms.
In fact out of the 76 cases in Gloucestershire, it is widely thought that there were only 6 cases of FMD at the most.
I know Ministry officials were very concerned at the time when they were told by MAFFia HQ at Page St, London to kill, especially when test results were coming back negative. As one official asked "if the animals haven't got FMD, what have they got? And surely we should be trying to find out what is causing these symptoms".
This "new" disease got labelled OMAGOD but I can't remember exactly what it stands for. (I might have reference to it and post it later).
Locally we said that when MAFF saw FMD type symptoms the said "Oh my God, they have got FMD!" and when the results came back they said "Oh my God, we have made a mistake!" - again and again and again!!!
I think it was right that the Cheltenham Festival was cancelled last year anyway because everything else was being cancelled at the time and to have carried on would have looked like one law for the rich.....
