Mr Peter Ainsworth (East Surrey): To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, on how many premises culling took place of (a) cattle, (b) sheep, (c) pigs and (d) other animals under the (i) infected premises, (ii) dangerous contact, (iii) slaughter on suspicion and (iv) contiguous cull schemes operating during the foot and mouth disease outbreak broken down by (A) county and (B) region; and how many samples were taken and how many positive tests were found at each premises. NUMBER OF PREMISES WHERE CULLING TOOK PLACE OF CATTLE, SHEEP, PIGS, GOATS, DEER AND OTHER ANIMALS DURING THE FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE OUTBREAK, INCLUDING NUMBER OF PREMISES SAMPLED AND THOSE RETURNING POSITIVE RESULTS, BY COUNTY AND GB REGION.

Please see following tables (i) and (ii) for data regarding number of premises where culling took place of different animal types.
The figures for number of samples taken and number of samples that returned positive results, per premises, are unavailable. However, the number of premises sampled and those that returned a positive result are detailed in the following tables (iii) and (iv).
