"The sheep seemed to have great survival instincts. Those that were alive and witnessing the mass killing of their forerunners, were trying to bury themselves under the bodies of recently killed ewes"

The trial of the Great Orton slaughterman continues in Preston, Lancashire, not Lancaster as I stated yesterday. A slip of the key, honestly Now there is a word. Honesty. How about integrity or honour? I could not connect any of these with our current government and even some in the past. But for the moment I am more interested in what is happening here, now.

I note that my old friend Elliot Morley, Under Secretary for State, DEFRA, an ex. special needs teacher makes quite a habit of lying. At the end of October, Morley and fellow incompetent ( Lord ) Whitty, both stated:-

"Stock movements were stopped immediately." They were referring, of course, to stopping stock movements in February immediately FMD was "discovered" in a Cheale abbattoir.

Oh come come gentlemen Perhaps your memories are playing tricks on you, again. Or perhaps your fluid, innacurate use of the English language permits a 4 day delay to equate to "Immediately"

As an ex teacher Mr Morley, you damn well know that is not so and you damn well know that you have either LIED again or you have virtually no knowledge of the facts I know and you know you are a liar

THE GT. ORTON TRIAL

More very disturbing evidence was again revealed today. It seems that the mass culling was:-

"Poorly organised". "Loaded weapons were left lying around". "There was a shortage of vets on site to oversee the killing."

and, absolutely horrifically;

"The sheep seemed to have great survival instincts. Those that were alive and witnessing the mass killing of their forerunners, were trying to bury themselves under the bodies of recently killed ewes"

" It was hard to imagine anything more stressful for the slaughtermen; the noise, the appalling smell on site."

"Some workers only lasted a day, it was so horrific."

Yes absolutely, it was like hell revisited I am sure. Good old MAFF added to this barbaric, unscientific procedure by paying these slaughtermen per animal.

Piece work

Now that really encourages good ethical and clean killing

In the 4 pens in question, 600 ewes an HOUR were being dispatched ONE EWE EVERY SIX SECONDS

I need to add very little more comment. Just sit back and imagine the scene up there in April 2001 at Great Orton Animal carnage and sufferingt on a scale never witnessed in this country before I also would like you to cast your minds back to the same period. A "travellator" ran all day transporting the bodies of killed lambs from the slaughter tents to their resting place in the deep recesses of the now infamous Great Orton airfield. Some, we know, had only been born very, very recently A TVI told me last year "Nick, it would be mind boggling to know how many lambs we had killed"

No wonder the then Defence Minister, Geoff Hoon, despite being allowed one hour to visit the Gt Orton airfield, barely lasted 15 minutes He left the site very pale and ashen Obviously this man could not stomach his governments own work BLOODY COWARD

It is very easy to understand why Ministers such as Morley the liar, Whitty "DEFRA did a good job.", Beckett the caravaner, Blair the egotist and Nick Brown the........, no I wont drop that low, are so S**T scared to have an open enquiry. If I had lied so extensively, caused so much animal and human suffering, the like of which has never been seen before in this country, I would also be very, very scared to undergo cross examination under oath

Sleep well incompetents You know, they probably will as well. At least, a lot better than most of us have done for months
